[toaster] Patching

I know this is not the right list but my google searchs have come up empty. What is the proper syntax for patching code (software) on linux. For example I trying to patch mess833 but I havbe is the patch code.. How is that patch applied? Thanks in advance. Regards, Michael Di Martino Director

What is the purpose of this line? (cd ~vpopmail/etc ; tcprules tcp.smtp.cdb tcp.smtp.tmp < tcp.smtp) How is it supposed to be implemented. The directions are not clear on this. Is it executed w/ the parentheses or with out. Or is it put in the ~vpopmail/etc/tcp.smtp file. If so with or w

After patching qmail and recompiling qmail i shut it down (qmailctl stop) I rec'd the following error (see below) while running make setup check. I have check the archives but their was nothing. I then checked to see if qmail was indeed donw and to my surprise it was not. so i shut it down
