This sets the initial message to disable PTT on Pin 5. I do not own
a Winkey device, so this is just a guess based o
Great news!
The Winkeydaemon works also with microHAM DXP interface wich
incorporates Winkey 3.1.
I would have a request concerning PTT: would be possible to FULLY
disable the PTT? It adds some nasty milliseconds even if all se to zero
which badly affects my QSK. I am using an Elecraft K4
More details, please. :-) Maybe enough for someone to reproduce or
at least figure out what is going on?
Which winkeydaemon? (I know of at least 3 different programs to
provide a cwdaemon interface to WinKeyer.)
It should be possible for muting to work, in theory at least. My
implementation
My winkeyer is version 3.
The -s switch has no effect on the speed, so using the pot is not
possible.
The -m switch works as far as muting the speaker sidetone. but results
in sending pure jibbersh. Without the switch the speaker is back on and
keying is normal.
Any work arounds or suggestions ?
It is just sending jibberish now. The speed pot has no effect. Where do
I set speed to 0 ?

I got the file packaged and made it executable. Not that hard to
copy/paste.
But:
stty: /dev/ttyUSB0: No such file or directory
Died at /home/ed/bin/winkeydaemon line 242.
I found no /dev/ttyUSB0 which is hard to believe.

How did you install that? With your distro's package manager or some
other way? If some other way, what was it?
If you have the file tool installed
(https://manpages.debian.org/stretch/file/file.1.en.html), what does
'file /home/ed/bin/winkeydaemon' say?
Best regards,

inkey daemon in /home/ed/bin, this is the output:
/home/ed/bin/winkeydaemon: line 8: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'

Hi Ed,
Then the ./ is not
Is this the correct way to start it ?
./winkeydaemon -n -d /dev/ttyUSB0
This is what I get
bash: ./winkeydaemon: No such file or directory
The directory it is in is in my path.

Thanks to Zoli, HA5CQZ, the winkeydaemon script has received some
updates.
A release tarball can be downloaded from:
https://github.com/N0NB/winkeydaemon/archive/v1.0.9.tar.gz
And now a short Wiki page is active:

Not big issue but interesting that in :sim mode winkeydaemon won't send
F1 CQ message and other Fx keys working perfect. After switching off
:sim mode F1 returning to normal work. There is not such problem with
cwdaemon or Win_keyer USB server.

Same here. I have the K3NG arduino based nanoKeyer. It works without
code at GitHub for some time:
https://github.com/N0NB/winkeydaemon
Wilbert has added more contributions over the years, as have Zoltan
Csahok and Tom, DJ1JBE, (Tom fixed a bug just a couple of weeks ago!).
The winkeydaemon is a drop-in replacement for cwdaemon for the K1EL
Winkeyer series and any
As an FYI, for those who may use it, winkeydaemon has been updated to
version 1.0.5 thanks to patches from Wilbert, PE7T. Here is the commit
message:
This patch adds the '-e' and '-m' switches.
Using '-e' turns on 'paddle echo' on the winkeyer3.
