Looks like you tried to save the page from the GitHub page as there is no `<!DOCTYPE html>' text in that script, particularly at line 8. Try this link: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/N0NB/winkeydaemon/master/src/winkeydaemon Then save it from your browser but beware that your browser may add a '.txt' extension (Chromium does that here) which should not be added when you do a "Save As...".
