Do you happen to know of a resource along the lines of "BSD for
Linux Users"?

Is WP available for Linux? Is it free?

My printer - a DJ500 - used to work perfectly.
I don't print very often, so I'm not sure -exactly- when it
stopped working, but it was probably when I upgraded the kernel
from 2.2.14 to 2.2.17. I can't see anything in the changes file
that is relavant though.
I have the right modules loaded:
Trying to get my $*^%&$ PnP soundcard to work. It's a CMI8330
and I've been following the stuff in the documentation and it's
ALMOST working. I get sound but all choppy and soft.
Error when I try to cat something to /dev/dsp:
Dec 7 14:15:27 mycroft kernel: Sound: DMA (output) timed out - IRQ/
Just in case anybody wondered what happened, it turned out that
IRQ7 was dickey. When I changed the config file to config it to
IRQ 11 it works like a charm.
Silly PC hardware **grumblegrumble**

I do backups of /home and /etc to my zip drive pretty regularly.
Just recently /home got too big to fit onto the zip so I'm
excluding certain files.
I'm using the option "--exclude-from-file backup.excludes"
and the backup.excludes file looks like this:
*~
*home/news*
*home/ftp*
*/core
*/log*

I'm getting a new printer, hurrah!
I'm used to using lpd and magicfilter on Debian for my
11-year-old HP DJ 500.
But the new printer I'm getting is a black and white lazer
printer, Brother 1250 which is one of their suggested printers in
that category. This is according to linuxprinting.org.
ANybody know of a decent Icon Editor for Linux/X?
I want to make some of those favicon.ico that IE likes to use
when people bookmark my pages.
