Hi all,
I am in need of some recommendations on version control software for

I want to be able to define the files that belong to a project, and to

Hi Adriana,
I use CVS on my development linux boxes (in fact I make my users on
NT use CVS for Windows to check out the source from a linux drive mounted
using SAMBA). It's a great tool and can merge changes from multiple
users working on the same file pretty intelligently.

Hi all,
I ran into a weird problem while I was upgrading a system.
The system previously had P133 with win95/rh6.0 dual boot.
It had a 33.6k modem which worked fine in both windows and linux without
any trouble at all.
After I upgraded the system to P3-550 with winnt/rh6.1 dual boot,

We have already considered CVS, and in fact we use it for version
control of our scripts. I agree it's an excellent tool. The problem
though, is that cvs excels when you are manipulating text files, but
it's not that good when you want to handle a lot of images. I find the

Hello everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help w/ my modem problems.

have you tried dialing using minicom?
its fairly easy to setup and will tell you if your modem is even
set correctly.
(of course, that doesn't mean kde will like your modem...it doesn't
like mine, apparently...minicom will recognize it, but kde just hangs
on "initializing modem".)

I have Junkbuster running on my Linux which is the gateway. My browser
on the NT box has been configured to point to the Linux at port 8000.
The browsers on Linux have been configured in a similar fashion. The browser
on Linux works fine whereas the NT browser fails to connect to Junkbuster port.

Speaking only for myself, I don't know the answers nor do I have
any specific places to look, for the questions you asked. Sorry.

You may want to look at CFengine, here's a mirror:

Rsync is also good for synchronizing binary files across a network.

Newer junkbusters default to only allowing connections from localhost. Could
that be the problem?
Also, will the linux box allow you to telnet to it at port 8000 from the NT box?

Hey Tania,
Why don't you try '%cat /proc/pci | less' and see what
it reports about your modem. You will be able to find
the IRQ and IO. Then try linking it to COM 1-4,
/dev/ttyS0-3. Definetly use minicom to see what's going
on. And if it is indeed a WinModem that you are SOL.

Hey Tania,
cua refers to a callout device. This is not depreciated
in Linux and all call in/out goes thru ttyS(x). The main
reasons for this were compatibility with other *nixes,
and a single lock file for a device.
