Up till now, I've stayed with MS Outlook Express because of laziness (and
several hundred MB of stored messages). Some recent problems with it have
sent me looking for a decent X-based mail client. I'm looking for:

Hey Davida,
The problem appears to be that someone hardcoded their IP addr instead
of letting DHCP assign it. This becomes problematic if DynIP's are
shuffled quite often. If you can, make sure that everyone is using DHCP
not going into TCP/IP properties and setting their addr. The main reason

The bogus ethernet address is probably a known problem with the eepro100
driver, which is fixed in the newset driver, which you can find at
http://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/. After you get rid of the hw

Howdy,
Strange thing is happening when I am installing 6.1 on (work) Pentium III's.
During install, I choose dhcp (using Tier 1 NIC with eepro100.o Module).
When the install is finished and the PC reboots...dhcp gives it an address
that is static for another PC. ifconfig shows a bogus Ethernet a

Run ifconfig and make sure that it has the right ip addr:

Guys,
I'm trying to get my desktop computer at work (which
is connected with an ethernet card and has a static
ip) 'visible' from the outside (but not necessarily
outside our firewall.
I can't connect to it from other servers here, it's
natted, or whatever you call it.
I've been playing with i

Hmm. IRC client wars...
I use tkirc. It's a front-end for ircii and is very simple to use.
It also seems to have zero bugs, though I'm sure someone's found one...
It hasn't

I don't know what version of SSH it runs, though, I used it to ssh into a
system that was running a way old ssh version, so I don't know if it works

John,
They are there for a good reason, because, possibly unlike
yourself, many users are fumbling cretins. :) (No offense to any fumbling

Hi,
Anyone know of anything, preferably Open Source, that provides OpenSSH
connections from Windoze (specifically NT)? I sometime need to telnet

One of the things which annoyed me most about DOS-Windows
was the asking whether you really do want to delete a file.
Of course I wanted to delete it or I wouldn't have pressed
the stupid button. Did I ever delete a file by mistake? Yes
of course but I am sure I never stopped on the second window
