I am running Debian 8 (Jessie) and when I attempt to use "ADF Duplex" on my
HP8250 I get a segmentation fault.
I was running sane-utils 1.0.24-8+deb8u1 and had read on the list of the
many improvements in 1.0.25, so I got the source package for Debian Stretch
which is 1.0.25-2 and built and instal
cal domain name.
As is mentioned elsewhere, be very conscious of your sane network access
from the internet. If you have real routed IPs for your local network be
sure to ACL them off from the rest of the world in addition to using this
list.

The output of lsusb -v does include a scanner interface in the list of

The scanning screws up kdetv/my MSI TV at Anywhere TV card such that I have
to reset the channel.
I just set up xsane and it defaults to saving in .pnm format.
Why do I want that format instead of .png?
There is a header file called byteorder.h that is a part of the kernel
headers in the include/asm tree. Perhaps it will help to install the
kernel headers. I think Slack has a package for the 2.6 kernel headers
available.

As I said, the primary application of said scanner wouldn't be on my
Linux machine anyway, but it would be a bonus if at some point in the

Problem Solved!
I had an extra port line in the umax_pp.conf file. I just deleted the
port /dev/usb/scanner0 line at the end of the conf file.

Does SCARSE sound like what is needed (http://www.scarse.org)? With a
name like "Scanner CAlibration ReaSonably Easy", it
all colour correction, and

For the record, another problem I had was when using scanimage. I had
the device name as "coolscan2:/dev/uscanner" instead of
"coolscan2:usb:/dev/uscanner".
It all seems to be working fine now. All that remains is to learn how
to turn it into a positive.

sane-backends-1.05. I have a Microtek V6USL attached to a aic7xxx SCSI
card. The scanner is present in the bootup, when you run cdrecord
-scanbus and in harddrake. The program find-scanner says there is no
scanner. When I was running Ma
started up, I tried to aquire a preview and it hung.
