I recently bought an Epson Perfection 1260 Photo scanner. While it is supported in Linux, I've seen warnings about versions of sane previous to 1.0.10 causing motor burnout problems. My desktop system is Red Hat 7.3, with sane-backends-1.0.7-6. I assume this version is early enough to cause the problems. I have checked Red Hat and rpmfind and not been able to find an appropriate update for RH 7.3. Any suggestions as to what I should install?
