Hi Nico,
"WIA Canon MF5770" appears in "Scaners and Cameras" folder in Control
Panel when I plug-in the MF5770 USB cable.
On SnoopPro device list, if I click on the first device (MI_00 Canon
MF5770) and "Install and Restart", the scanner icon disappears
immediately.
If I do "install" and "instal

dude- download the sane-backend source tarball, and look at
scanimage.c in the frontends directory.
but really, it's not that big of a deal- in fact, you can add three
lines to the top of the data buffer and get a valid pnm.
also- turn off the html email. it's bad form on a mailing list.

I've seen similar behaviors with HP & Epson scanners on OSX. Problem (in my
case) was that factory scanner software launches daemons on USB hotplug that
grab device (scanner).
My way of dealing with it (and use SANE) - kill HP (or Epson) daemons and
anything twain ... and use SANE afterward.
scan using PS CS4, second scan - "No devices found"

Hello,
I wanted to buy an Iris Pen Translator or Iris Pen Express to be able
to scan extracts of books and barcodes,
but it does not seem to be linux-comptabile yet.

I wonder if a scanner with similar features supported by sane/linux exist,

and here we have a merge commit like julien warned about, where my
most recent (large) commit to canon_dr shows up again in this commit.
IIRC, we should not use git pull, but instead, get fetch and git
rebase to prevent this?
