I am just new in the list and perhaps this question was already done, but I did
not find anything in the archives.
I have a Genius ColorPage HR6X, parallel connection, is it supported by sane? I
see that the usb version seems to be supported, but nothing about parallel.

I've done a fresh RH 7.3 install last weekend.
My USB HP Scanjet 5370 scanner (Avision unit) was found during ... so I thought
I could use it immediately.
Not.
sane-find-scanner finds three (!) scanners, all the same HP scanjet 5370C's but
on different devices:

Hi,
to which port is your scanner connected? Or are you using a printer
while trying to scan? You could try to unload the parport modules (or at
least make sure they do not lock the port address...)

I got the same scanner and RH 7.3 and i have tried to
change port number
cat /proc/ioports indicates parport0 at 0378-037a
i used it in the mustek_pp.conf file and this is a no
go.
And no this is not while trying to print : )

Hello:
Just following up to find out if anybody has determined whether or not the
N1240U is supported as a 1220U. I am going to be purchasing a scanner in
the next few weeks and the model I am interested is the Canon Smart Style
CanoScan N1240U.
