If you know the keys you're going to be retrieving, you can pass bucket:key
combinations to the input of a MapReduce phase.

Is there a way to do N database lookups at once using riak to avoid
unneeded roundtrips? (N for my applications will range between 1 and 1000)
I am using the erlang client API; I haven't chosen a backend database).
Thanks!

Yes, this is a 32-bit system. So far I still get those errors even
with the change to ~/.bashrc
I notice that my default LD_LIBRARY_PATH is completely empty,
though.

Hi Jared,
Sorry for the confusion, the Java client you highlight is the Riak client I
meant to originally refer to, I clumsily dropped in the javascript one for
some reason!
I also think it is something which would both communities with benefits for
persisting and accessing data within Riak.

One note, we do provide an excellent Java client, that would probably be
preferable over the javascript client if you are already working from the Java
world.

And personally I think it would be great to see a Riak connector for Gora.

Unless something has changed drastically, only LevelDB supports secondary
indexes:

Charlies,
Upgrading riaks version or switching the the storage backend is typically
best down by rolling in the new servers then rolling out the old servers.
This takes a while but keeps you downtime at ~0. After the old servers are
removed you should be able to start using the riak's newest power
I've been using Riak for a few weeks now. I'm using the PHP API Client
(http://basho.github.com/riak-php-client/).
I noticed it was giving me errors when I tried to add indexes, so I changed the
backend from bitcask to leveldb (Does bitcask not allow indexing i.e. for
secondary indexes?). So
Hi,
I've recently been discussing the possibility of working on a gora-riak
store for the Apache Gora project [1]. As gora is written in Java we would
use the riak-javascript-client API for the Riak logic, the aim being to
provide all the goodies that Gora offers to the Riak community...
Would so
What is the fastest way to count the number of items in a secondary
index range query? I'm currently feeding an index input directly into
the riak_kv_mapreduce:reduce_count_inputs/2. Anything faster than
doing this? Anyway to query an index without loading the objects
themselves?

They might indeed be on your system, but are simply not in your LD path so the
linker doesn't know where to look for them. One thing that is curious though,
those last links are the 32bit libstdc++ libraries, are you on a 32bit system?
If not, you might not have the 64bit c++ libraries insta
Hi,
Sorry for bringing this up for attention at such late notice. However,
shouldn't this be a configurable setting in riak?
