as far as i know you can not telnet in as root, but ssh will let you do
it
and on a nother note, it looks like you have the gohip virus
you will probably find a file name winstart or something like that in
your windows dir

i moved / (hda5) to a new drive (hdc1) and now for some reason some of
my config files will/can not be read. i copied the old / to hdc1 with
cp -ax * /newdrive , edited lilo.conf, edited fstab and all went well.
but for some reason a few of my configs will not load or tell me that
they can
the new / (hdc1) had been installed and running already as /backup and
had been chown'd to clover:root and chmod'd to 700.
SO, . & .. on / were clover:root 700

I got my m$ (un)intellimouse working (with all the help from the list) , in
all my programs , except Netscape.
the way I got it running was to copy the imwheelrc to my /home dir as

hello, i got/installed the new 2.2.14-12 kernel rpms, and i wanted to do
a recompile to add an ali ide patch and get that working with the new
kernel. i got through all the makes ok and when i rebooted, the new
kernel was back to 2.2.14-5.0 and gives me errors on my scsi card and

this has to do with an email i sent out yesterday. i found out , what is
happening is for some reason , my kernel is loading my advansys scsi
module twice , first on scsi0 , then it tries to do it again on scsi1 ,

irq had a conflict and the modules was bad.
removed everything from hwconf, used the bios to set the irq, used an old

hello, im requesting some help with getting a pci lt non-winmodem
working on 6.2. i have tried the setserial thing, but not sure if i have
it right because i can not set the irq because i can not find out what
one it is using. this is what i have in /proc/pci :

rh6.0-smp to 6.2?? the old encrypted passwd's were around 10 chars long, and
now when we add a new user, it makes like over a 20 char encrypted passwd.
