I am detecting some unusual message like below in my log file
/var/log/named.log. I am using bind-8.2.2 which is going to be upgraded soon.

from a windowz email client, email can be POPed from RH 9 but nothing
happens when imap is enlisted and the transfer protocol. Both are enabled
in /etc/xinetd.d and I can see the imap requests in /var/spool/maillog
Anyone else encounted something like this ?

But CD rom is not working
properly
whenever i insert a cd and
click on the cdrom icon from my desktop
i get the message "unknow device /dev/cdrom"
My fstab configuration is as it's attached...
pls check it .. and help me out.

I'm using sendmail 8.11xx in RH 7.0. I have pointed MX record for new domain
abc.org.np to my mailserver and in mailserver I have added abc.org.np in
/etc/mail/local-host-name. But while sendming mail in this domain address, I get

I have a dual Win2k/RH9 system with Lilo installed on the boot sector of
/dev/hdb1. At start up I get two Win2k and one Linux boot options. After I
select Linux RH9 boots without displaying Lilo.
I want to access different kernel images however even if I hold the or

This is an upgrade from Redhat 8 to 9. File manager super user mode will
open and then disappear after about one second. It worked properly with
Redhat 8. All updates except the kernel have been applied. Any
suggestions?

I've tried many combinations to pass single quotes to a command in bash,
but I just can't get it to work. Basically, I want to run the following
script (abbreviated for simplicity):

Intellicast, Weather.com, and so on have desktop modules to run radar loops
continuously on one's desktop. Unfortunately, they are all only for windows.
Does anyone know of a good desktop weather module for Linux?

Where is the ability in 2.1 to set kernel parameters. In version 8, there
is something under Extras>System Tools. I do not see this in 2.1.

I do not have unison, but I did test this with another
program and mine works fine. Try using dos2unix on
that file. There may be some hidden characters in the
file causing it to fail. Also, try using the full
path to unison. BTW, my bash version RPM is 2.05a-13.

GAIM has plug-ins that enable it to connect to MSN and ICQ and Yahoo.
Poke around the GAIM website (gaim.sourceforge.net) and look for

with dual P133's and was running the SMP kernel just fine under 7.2,

If that doesn't work, make sure your Windows machine has the same
workgroup name defined. Also, you might have to enable WINS support on
both the client and the server. Sometimes other protocols like IPX
interfere. Make sure you have unused protocols removed.

AMD 500Mhz(socket), 256MB DIMM(1 of 128MB and 2 of 64MB), 15GB,
motherboard M598LMR, SIS530 chipset, VGA 8MB (built-in), sound (built-in)
