Hi, I'm running RH9 with KDE as my desktop. Soon after installing RH9 I forced the switch to KDE by replacing gdm with kdm as my login manager. I previously deleted my ~/.gnome* directories. I still get an occasional error when starting a gnome application. I notice the error most frequently when I manually run the Red Hat Network Alert Icon. It doesn't always occur. But once it starts it's consistent. Here's the errors: An error occurred while loading or saving configuration information for rhn-applet. Some of your configuration settings may not work properly. Configuration server couldn't be contacted: CORBA error: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/BAD_OPERATION:1.0 Configuration server couldn't be contacted: CORBA error: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/BAD_OPERATION:1.0 Configuration server couldn't be contacted: CORBA error: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/BAD_OPERATION:1.0 The applet itself works fine, once I click OK. It seems to be gnome-related, which is why I deleted all my gnome configuration. I encounter the same problem running gnome-control-center, or even the game Same GNOME. I seem to have pretty much every Gnome package installed. I'm up to date with the latest RH kernel (2.4.20-18.9). Any ideas would be most appreciated.
