Hi Jay;
When customers don't buy the Magnum remote meter, I program and test their
inverter with mine, then bring it home. Then they can pay me to come back
if changes in programming are needed (rare) or (more common) new equipment
is added.new generator, battery monitor, etc.

Hi Dan,
I've got to ask, if some customers don't buy those two things, I presume they
have to pay you for the service call to make any adjustments?
And, how do you tell them to operate the battery bank without a amp hr meter?
I'm always curious about how others do this.
thanks,

That's great news on the webinar, I'll sign up. I've never had any issues
with selecting amongst the Magnum remote varieties, though sometimes it
takes a second read of their literature.
I usually keep a Magnum remote in my tool box;. Some customers just DO NOT
want to pay for the remote, just lik

Jeff,
Kent's and Maverick's advice is right on. I would challenge your
approach of excluding the remote. The Magnum remote is much easier
to use (and thus harder to mess up) than Outback's traditional

I don't know if this is true for all of the Magnum inverters, but I
suspect it is:
From the MS-PAE manual: "The settings once programmed are saved in the

DC power to the inverter is lost (as long as the ME-RC remot
I think they go back to defaults. Maybe the remote is just not reading the
values before displaying the set point in question after being power cycled.
To get around the issue, all of our inverter installs come with a "free"
remote.
Thank you,
