It is possible the complainant may be exaggerating or even fabricating the

Sounds like a great solution. We have an OB Radian net-metered PV with

When a Sunny Boy is put into Off-Grid mode, the A/C voltage window is opened to

further away from the roof deck the modules is, the less likely nesting is

Agreed, standard S-5! with L-foot and rail allows for the easiest install
and most flexibility. We also stagger the clamps as much as possible to hit
as many seams as possible. Also, make sure the pans are installed correctly
as they will be the weakest link.

I agree - the regular S-5! clamps with L-Feet and rails adds a lot of
flexibility. Plus, it is compatible with microinverter installations.

The S-5 Kit must be adjusted with the jam nuts potentially at every clamp
location to keep the modules from being forced to follow the roof contour.
We have always used L-feet and rails mounted to the standard S-5 clamps
since it creates a flat surface for the pv.

Just carefully align the S-5!s with a mason line and use a plywood template or
some other material template to keep these straight.
We also use a lot of S-5! and have Milwaukee 12v impact drivers to set the
screws. Check the torque with a wrench as well.
Good luck.

It would have been prudent to build a thin plywood jig to match the PV you are

The advantage of rails is that you have somewhere to attach wires, boxes (and

What a horror story. I try to always have a contract for a turnkey
system. If the customer is responsible for any part of the job, it
is specified as "Customer Responsibility" in the
contract. A contract is only as good as the people involved, but at
least the terms of the agreement are clear.
