Thanks for all of your responses. I must admit, I'm not terribly shocked
that the Rambo is considered the way for me to go.
Bo, I'm really intrigued by all that you said. What made you sell the AHH
in favor of a Rambo? I'm curious because another option that I have
considered is saving up my ca

I do appreciate all of the comments. I don't anticipate riding much on
dirt - more long rides on the road.
I am looking for some help with sizing - especially sizing a Rambouillet.
Whenever I measure my PBH I end up somewhere between 86 and 87 (I'm about 5
foot 11). I'm not sure whether I would
ot;-5'11" and PBH 84-86.

I do agree with that. My Bob Brown custom is a deep burgundy red with a
cream headtube. It makes me smile whenever I look at it!

Again, I am very grateful for all of your comments and suggestions.
Temptation (as in the 58 cm blue Rambouillet frame now available on ebay -
the one that I hear whispering my name) is a terrible thing. The consensus
seems to be that I would be better off on a 60 cm bike (or a 59, I assume,

Don, if you have a moment, I would love to learn more about the differences
in handling characteristics that you perceive between your Ram and your
Rodeo.
PS: The Ram that Saturday Cycles has available sounds like an awesome
bike. Unfortunately, it is more $ than I am willing to spend right now
Appreciate the comments. Like Ginz, I wish that I had purchased the
previous Riv derby tweed sweaters. I don't want to miss-out again.
However, I am a bit concerned about buying sight-unseen. I do want to
support Riv, and I tend to trust Grant and his decisions. I might as well
do the same with
I read the article, found it interesting, and thought that members here
would find it interesting as well. My sharing was more an FYI than a "this
is what you should be doing" post. I apologize if my post made anyone
angry.

Thanks for all of your comments. I placed my pre-order this morning. I
will now eagerly await the next tidbit from RBW about this project.
David - great tip about adding $30 to the order to get free shipping.
Cheers,

David,
That way that I understand this pre-order, is that I purchased and paid-for
a sweater. A delivery charged was added to my order. If I understand this
process correctly (and I may not!), Riv will contact those who have
pre-ordered when the sweaters arrive. At that point (I believe / hope .
This thread has been so informative. Thank you all for your comments and
stories. Having lots of data points certainly is helpful in determining
what course of action to take - to buy or not to buy a Cheviot.
I've read through the comments a few times and the consensus seems to be

Congratulations on your frame order! I noticed earlier today that there
were only three grey Cheviots left. I have a funny feeling that I am going
to follow your lead before the day is over. A Cheviot is quickly becoming
the bike that I do not want to let get away.

Thanks, Clayton. That information is quite helpful.

Fabric glue sounds like the perfect solution. A quick search at Amazon
provided quite a variety of options. I assume that any "permanent" fabric glue
should do the trick.

My pbh is about 88. Riv recommended that I go with a 56 Sam. Not sure about
my size on a Homer and I can't seem to access Riv's sizing chart

Thanks for your suggestions. It seems like the Porlex mini gets a lot of
love, as does the Hario. I'm going to ponder this a bit more before making
a final decision. I guess I am a bit torn trying to decide how compact of
a unit to purchase. The Porlex mini is small enough that I can easily

Thanks again for all of your comments. After doing way more research than
seems necessary, I [think] that I have decided to purchase a Hario Skerton

durability at a cost that seems fairly reasonable. It is a bit larger than
