matter what your style the gearing it comes with is pretty good and as you
become familiar with the bike, it does not cost much to modify the gearing to
match your needs.
The QB is the most used bikes in my stable.

I think th last brakes were avid shorty 6's. They may have been the worst. I
started with stock shimano brakes and I think I tried Some Cane Creeks. Lots
of different pads on each.

I will second the internal hub. Sounds like your knees are no longer up to
having only one speed any more so it is time to get some gears. When I have to
do something with my QB because of my old knees this is the way I will go. It
has much more cool factor then a deraileur bike.

Sounds like a great ride. I will warn people that the climb from Ohio Pyle
park to Falling Water is about 3 miles of 300% grade. At least that is how it
seemed the year we tried it on a tandem with the wrong gearing and an out of
shape team.

Maybe not quite local but Bruce Miller at Berlin Bicycle has built the wheels
on all my Rivendels and Tandems. I have not had a problem with any of the

Nice bike. I was afraid for a second when I saw the picture. Against that
fence I thought Grant had started putting double top tubes on the bike.
My Quickbeam has been my commuter for the last 7 years and my go to bike for

I too would love a new Riv wool jersey. I sent an email to Riv asking if there

hauling my clothes, lunch and occasionally a lap top. If this is your primary
commuter then the Luna is a good looking rack that doesn't over power the bike
when there are no bags on it.
