Thanks for sharing Tony. I enjoyed the photos. In the second photos of your

I just replaced drop bars on my Trek 520 with Rivendell’s Albastache and a
Nitto Dirt Drop Stem. It feels like a new bike. Upright but with several hand

That made me think of the crazy carbon bikes with the seat post that is

That's good to hear Joe. I want a sometimes commuter and just ride bike
that is more upright than a dropbar setup. I did get the H so it won't be
so easy to mount but that's not a big deal for me...yet. Do you like the
thumb shifting?

I do believe I lost my religion trying to wrap my Albastache bars with grip
tape. For some reason the horizontal orientation of the brake levers baffles
me. Finally got it though after 4 or 5 rewards.

Efficient in my mind is the least amount of effort in traveling a given
distance. I do understand that efficiency is not always the most important

I know there are riders here who ride their Clems on singletrack trails. I
have ridden mine on fairly mild trails and it was just fine. The long
wheelbase seems to smooth out rocks and roots a bit. I do ride mine mostly
on the road however so others may want to offer their advice.

I've used and really liked OneUp pedals. I did have to re-grease them after
about 800 miles but they have large platforms and are nice. Mine were a
boring green...boring compared to NL!! Awesome color scheme, Leah.
