of my AHH. It barely fit (no fender). I did not try the rear, but I think

years. I have lived most of that time in the mountains, but now live in Bend

I sometimes have terrible knee pain in my left knee but have always chalked
it up to the fact I sprained it 15 years ago and it just flares up. If I
can find a natural, non-doctor/drug way of alleviating the pain, I would
love to.

In my personal experience and that of many others eliminating grains,
veggie oils, and processed foods eliminated issues of inflammation. Helped
a lot of others as well. Also, in my experience, eliminating those from my
diet greatly decreased my need for constant water.

I rode on a different SFR 200k with a gal from Minnesota. She complained
how hard it was to dress for a California brevet. In Minnesota it's easy,
check the temperature and put on the right clothes. In California you are
very likely to see a 40 degree swing throughout the ride.

A few thoughts:
Youth has no inherent aversion to endurance events, as youth is thriving in
ultrarunning events, though it is true that developing the aerobic system
requires a willingness to not go "as fast as I can" (a good general formula
being not to go over 180-age beats per minute per Phi
I think most of the younger endurance racers are into off-road rides. The
avg. age of riders on events like the Tour Divide is in the early 30's.
Gravel racing is another area where younger riders have found their
calling. Long pavement rides just seem more monotonous compared to the
variety

Standing is no problem; no knee pain no matter what the gear or slope. But
sitting and torquing is the danger.
I just don't feel comfortable with Arch Over Pedal Spindle; it feels
artificial. Note that this has nothing to do with No Retention -- I know of
