Yep, loose bearings. Repacking is really very simple. I do all my MKS
pedals (GKs and Touring) before I even mount 'em these days.

That "understanding" is just plain wrong if you're speaking of 9 speed. The
ONLY Shimano MTB derailleurs that are incompatible with road shifters (I
presume that's what you mean by "don't mesh") are the 10 speed DynaSys MTB
derailleurs, which have different cable pull requirements. Otherwise,

East Canyon is just west of Newhall in LA County. I've ridden that dirt
road at least 50 times... a nice climb in oak trees. At the top there is an
intersection that can take you to Mission Peak with great views of the San
Fernando Valley. This land was acquired by the Santa Monica Mountains

Within a few weeks here in Vancouver, B.C. I came across three Bleriots (
one was a 57 cm that was finally sold at a shop after being stored for
awhile ) and one Bleriot had a white unicrown disc fork on it which looked,

On vacation in 2005, we stayed at Smugglers Inn. I pedaled my Trek
Navigator over the Notch and then down into Stowe, and then another day
down to the trail along the Lamoille River. Beautiful in the Summer. I
rode the bike as well on the snowshoe paths, but man was that tough work!

inherently dangerous it is sharing the road with automobiles and folks who are
as Michael said are anxious. Everytime I ride these days I know how quick

Only help I can offer is you may have the cable too tight. Through a lot
of trial and error have found that the cable needs to be snug, but not
really tight to handle index shifting properly. (At least on my Sam
Hillborne and Surly LHT).

except that it's a short ride ( 45 min.) to the top and no where to go
from there except down to the San Fernando Valley. You don't want to go
that way.
