FFHS now $2,100.00. Next week another hundred off if it lasts. Also will begin

There are a couple of hotels in Preston. Country Trails & Inn is on the
north side of town and is good. There is also the Trailhead Inn which is
next to the Root River trail and looks adequate, although I've never stayed
there. The town has a grocery store and one or two restaurants, although

and the Bontrager Ti 69er conversion thread were great reads I never would have
found otherwise - thanks for the links!

Eric,
I'll take the bag. Let's figure out a place to meet up. Or, you can bring
it by the store!

I think I agree with James that your two best fully functional bikes would
be the Atlantis or the Hilborne. They consistently get mentioned in the
"only one bike" debate as good choices. I also agree that when you get on
in age the Betty would do you well, if riding well into old age is a goal.
But there are 4 shown. Is this a koan?

Really cogent points about Keith and his place in recent cycling history.
Thanks for mentioning them.
A few of his posted "rants" are still findable via the web. A lot
disappeared after the acquisition. But, "The Myth of KOPS" is also superb
and relates significantly to GP's rider placement

Thanks for those links. I have great respect for Paul Sadoff's bikes, too, and

Hi all! Keven from Rivendell here. Wondering if I could get a body count
of who all is planning on coming out for the S240. We're trying to figure
out the best spot on the mountain for the group. Leaving later in the day
is never a bad idea if we are hoping to slide somewhat under the radar.
I'm coming, and I may be bringing along a potential Riv recruit.
Is it possible to send out an advanced group that is sure to get to
wherever we're camping before it's dark? I'm not afraid of riding in
the dark, but I'm not a fan either of setting up my tent in the dark
or of riding in the dark on

So. Well. Uhhhm, yeah. Wow.
What a ride. Gorgeous day, fantastic compatriots. Fantastic day, gorgeous
compatriots would be a stretch, but not too far off!
And if I may say so, a most wonderful-good route!
Eight riders in total got together to ride a combination of dirt and road
for four hours on

You neglected to mention the apres ride refreshment stop, but the quality
of the ride itself forgives you.
Wonderful mix of suburbia (lot of that in So Cal), rural horse country &
pure fire road & single track, with a dash of sand wash. Seriously high
quality miles. I'm glad the Atl
I was just visualizing having some Bosco Bars and all the various hand

enough that I could really easily and comfortably put my feet up on the
flats. As obviously unsafe as that sounds, I'm definitely going to try it
