brass from brazing gets sucked up into the hole for the boss, making
it impossible to tighten ANY wing-bolt. In the olde dayes, you'd just
cut off some of the wing bolt, so it wouldn't bottom out. There's

If I start with a full set of Shimano bar-ends shifters (SL-BS64 "Ultegra"
8-speeds, if it matters), use what's needed to mount the shifters themselves
on Paul Thumbies and put them in service, I'm left with *some* Shimano
bar-end-mount-oriented stuff.

Road Custom, Quickbeam, Legolas. The Roadeo is my favorite road
bike. For anything less than trail riding, it is a perfect bike.

changing out the Ergo levers with standard brake levers and downtube friction

I have been using these for about 1.5 years. They have been working
well for me. I started to use them after all my old cleated shoes

The IIRC the Legolas also has a 73deg seat tube as opposed tto the
roadeo 72deg, and you are correct on the trail with a mm or 3 less
rake on the fork. I thought long and hard on this as the last of the

I have been using mine for about two years now (with SPD cleats).
They've held up really well - the only damage is that the leather has
gotten chewed up on the toes from fixing flats on the road. Otherwise,
they're still stiff and comfortable.
