As others have suggested, Spenco is a good choice. My favorite is the Elite series. Not too much padding. And the leather palms are the best of the bunch, in my opinion. A bike shop in Grand Marais, MN clued me into the Elite. Although will use the Touring model if nothing else is available.

I have found the Rivendell summer glove to be padded surprisingly well for my needs. More "modern" gloves don't seem to provide as much padding, and there are often gaps in the pads that just don't work for me. On drop bars I use these gloves with Cinelli "Gel" cork tape. On upright bars I use th

Hugi hubs are very well made. The ones currently in use are about 5 years old and have never been serviced. They still run smooth. I have slightly older set of Hugi hubs that have developed some play and need to have the bearings replaced. The bearings are cartridge-type and are simply pressed

Of course, on the way home my pump rattled and rattled and at one time seemed to snap back into its place on the frame. At the first opportunity, I fished the strap out of my bag and put it back on. Vanity is not a good reason for leaving the strap off. I don't know if this makes a difference,
