Nathan, I think Steve's compare/contrast was pretty spot on. I can add that I flatted RTs pretty regularly via goathead thorns and that the tread started peeling off on my tires . The GBs are the most fantastic riding tires I have ever owned,

I did run Grand Bois 30's sith SKS 35's. Clearance was tight as you described for the 45's and there were a lot of pebbles that scraped their way through. The clearance was tight and while I never had a problem while riding I often had to adjust the fenders after transporting the bike. Lar
