I converted my Haluzak SWB recumbent from 559 to 584 simply by moving the pads out to the most extreme setting on the Shimano DeOre LX V-brake. Works fine. I did this conversion in order to get the same nice fat and wide tires that I have on my Bleriot - Velocity Synergy asym rims and Panara

I used the Paul Moto Lite V-brakes to convert an old Stumpjumper to 650B. See here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/twowheelflight/422613850/ I believe Avid and Tektro have made brakes in the past that had similar adjustability. I don't think it would work with most standard cantilevers. On Dec 14,
