Rob, that's just what I was thinking... new fork. The Ram I found has
some paint scratches so I was planning on painting it this winter
after I finish building my custom Randonneur that I finally have all
the parts for. Since the back of the Ram has room for a 37mm Pasela
( with a cm to spare) I co
As in my other post, that is shockingly close to the exact opposite of
my situation. I would definately check the rake on the fork, and or
any other signs of change in the fork from original. This could be a
really good reason to call Tom Matchak and get one of his forks made
up.

Wow, that's really bizarre. Sorry you're having the problems with it.
Let's us know what the folks at Rivendell say.

I feel your pain with this one.
On my Roadeo the front brake pads are at the bottom of the slots and
the fork has 45mm between blades. With the Shimano brakes I could
still get a 37 in there with a little balck magic to get it in and
out.
The rear is another story. The bridge is so low that the
here is the clearance on the front and back... go figure?

I'll call Rivendell tomorrow and see if they have any ideas.

You might want to recheck the Tektros that you got, perhaps you got
some of the non-bigmouth standard reach calipers. Look on the Riv
website, the brakes clear a 37 no problem.

Maybe give RBWHQ a call on monday and talk to Mark, he mi
just dug the old shimano 550 calipers out of the trash. They seem
taller from pad to inside top of caliper, just not wide enough. I
fixed one problem and now have another...hmmm. I really want to run
the 37mm Paselas on this bike.

thanks for the info. With the JB's and no fenders there is scarcely a
3mm of height clearance. The 35mm Paslela's won't even fit. My
Paselas seem much taller than the JB's ...maybe .5cm.
BTW, the back has no problems. I did notice on the front that the
brake pads are only half way down the slot v

I've managed to fit 700x35 Panaracer T-Serves on my Rambouillet
without any issues other than having to deflate the tire before
inserting it. Not sure what's going on with your bike. 700x32s are the
biggest tire I've managed to fit on the bike with an SKS P45. I have
some SKS fenders with Berthoud
I have 35 Kojaks on my Ram but it measures a bit under that. Maybe
closer to 33 max.

This problem doesn't make sense to me unless the bike has fenders. If
it does, the biggest tire that will fit will be the Jack Brown.
