Hi Wesley,
I will absolutely send pictures when I get home tonite. Rear rim is a Mavic
open pro, 36 spokes, butted. Front rim is also Mavic 36 spokes but I can’t
remember what version.
I also have another wheel set I can substitute if you prefer. It is a 36h Sun
cr18 with Shimano m430 hubs, 13
Could you send me some pictures? Also, what is the spoke count and rim
width?

Hi Wesley,
Thanks for your interest. Hub size is 130mm. There is a seven speed cassette on

Is that a new price drop or has it been that price for a bit? I sent a
tall person the link to a discounted clem a few weeks ago. But if this is
another price drop I'll poke him again.

Pretty much the solution I went with. Although it was a demo clementine
59cm. I justified it as baby's first bike. Congrats on the new bike! Hope
you and the little one have loads of fun with it.

I got the crank from here on the list; it was an Octalink crank, I
needed an Octalink V1 BB; I wanted an Ultegra, but those are NLA.
Because I have a triple crank, I went with a triple BB. The XTR is
116.5; however, the DA and 105 BB is 118. I would suggest the 105's

Leslie,
Beautiful job.
Do you know the width of your BB?
Also, what's the tape used on your handbars and formula (shellac /
coats) used in getting the look.
Can you post some close ups when convenient?
I'm 2-3 weeks away from putting together my Atlantis and am interested
in details.
Finally,
I have not, but I can attest to the Townie (another model) that they
make. Great, solid bike for the price.

Thanks. My next task is to stomp on my bike desire and persuade myself that
I *don't* need a new bike to ride 1/4 mile to the grocery store.
(But, if I did that, I'd be doing it in real style with the Milano oh,
oh, oh)

One test ride sold me, and I've had my Milano since 1999. I've
recommended the Milano to several friends, and they also have liked
their bikes very much. The Milano feels faster than the numbers
indicate, and while I don't have a basket mounted, my guess is a
basket should work fine.
Good luck.
Speaking of the Milano, how has any owner/rider onlist found hiserhers?
Would it make a nice short-distance errand bike with the addition of
baskets?
I tried to buy my daughter one for myself but she wanted a cruiser (I got
her the 24" wheel Electra Townie 3i, which she loves).

The Surly LHT 26" wheel version will be available in sizes over 54cm
beginning next year:

I would definitely go for the LHT- your Dad will love it. My
family and I just bought one for my Dad, and I was kind of jealous, it

really awesome.But again
My dad is mostly going to ride on some dirt trails and paved trails in
Fort Worth, Texas. He's 70, so I want to get him something comfortable
to ride, but cool, too.

$1075, but some shops may have them at the old price of $985. Of
course, to swap for a-bars, with the required levers, grips, cables,
etc, may run the price closer to $1300. Plus tax, where applicable.
Still the best deal on a bike that you're likely to find.

The built one that comes with everything but racks and pedals is $105
I agree about the LHT, but you can't build one up for less than a
grand unless you buy used parts, or unless there are *really* cheap
parts that I don't know about.

Would a built up Kogswell P/R come in under the $1K line?

Swobo Baxter, 2010 Raleigh Alley Way, 2010 Raleigh Clubman (change out
