Isn't one of the RBW managers an accomplished cross racer? And the Legolas,
a cross bike, was one of the more desired RBW models. So (eek!), quite on
topic.

there are certainly Riv enthusiast who love cyclocross and race, in spite
of the negative comments made. It's a fun sport and even some Riv employees

experience.

Your apology is unnecessary, but appreciated. No offense taken, but what
you said sounded like something that would irk me. Thanks for keeping up
the discourse.
I agree that cyclocross is interesting; it's the coolest form of racing
I've spectated.

I didn't find anything in your posts offensive in the least.
Let me know when I've won my year's subscription.

I am sorry if my post offended some people, or if it sounded like I
suggested that you _should_ like cyclocross _racing_. My intention simply
was only to point out that cyclocross is out there for those who feel so
inclined, but not to suggest that you should like it (or anything else, at

I agree with Tim. It's just as presumptuous to expect "unracers" to be
into cyclocross as it is to expect them to be into randonneuring, or
extended loaded touring, or even S24Os. It's a harmless presumption, but
it's a presumption. If there's one thing that "unracers" seem to have in

I, for one, am grateful for my local cyclocross scene and its close cousin,

The one thing that is nice about 'cross is that you don't get cold even on

But the idea of an organized event whose only purpose is competition makes
me think there are better ways to spend my time.
Of course, to each their own.

I appreciate cyclocross, but don't participate. I think it reflects my
attitude about racing, which is shared by many in the list. I'm an
