If the bearings are set properly the extra nuts don't effect the "preset"
play in the hub. When it's time to repack bearings the task is a tad
easier if you remove (dremel) the threads on the inner innermost lock
nuts, effectively making them into spacers/ washers. I have a 126mm
o.l.d wheel
unless you need the extra strength of the 135mm just add an extra locknut
on both sides of the axle and you are good to roll. The shorter axle will
have a couple mm left for the dropouts which is plenty. Actually Sheldon

About four years ago I started having more than the occasional cramp,

My Sam's post did the same thing. I used a snap punch to create a "grid"
of punches about a centimeter wide in the area of the clamp. Punches were
about 2-3 mm apart. After a bit of sanding with some fine sandpaper the fit
got just about perfect. I wound up with some of the scratching exposed, no
Saddle soap works good to clean and soften up old grungy tape.

BTW, how does the inner 32 ring do riding fixed with the not perfect chain
line? Also If I want the 8t range of the slot with the 15 tooth would I
need to take a link of chain out and add back a 1/2 link? Simplicity

There are some cheap beartrap pedals available that I have come to love.
They are made by VP (google VP beartrap pedals). The bearings come set too
tight (IMO). A little futzing with the adjustment and they work

I like the brake hoods parallel with the ground and the reach 10cm shorter

I have a Specialized floor pump w/ gaugue that I like very well. I have
checked it with one of those brass push on gauges I've had for years and
they both read the same. I've used it to add a tad bit of air to my car
tires and it is accurate enough to make that stupid tire pressure idiot
light go

I like the handling of my Ram better when unloaded on the front. I have
however had it set up with a Mark's rack and lil loafter up front and like
you said in 15mins (if that long) I'm used to the change in feel. I find
too that the wider the tire the less noticible the front weight is to me.
