Larry,
One of my Brooks saddles developed a squeak recently. I was able to stop the
sqeak by applying a bit of oil to the point where the rails pivot at the nose
of the saddle. I had tried lubing many other places without success.

Mike,
You may want to contact the Country Bike Shop in Celina, Ohio at
WWW.CountryBikeshop.com
They are an exclusive Riv dealer and the last time I was there they had some 56
Sams with a single TT.

Jim,
Sounds interesting. Schedule permitting I would like coming up your way from
Ohio, and maybe could bring a couple of fellow Riv riders.

I have a Trek 520 that I used as a commuter and loaded tourer for many
years. When I bought it in 1989 I had the LBS switch out the 105 cranks for MB
cranks as it too thought it didn't have sufficiently low gears for
touring. Over the years I made lots of upgrades and made it as close to a

Brian,
Have wired taillights 2 ways and both have worked fine.
I have wired a dynamo taillight by running the single wire from the dynamo
along the down tube, secured by zip ties. Went along top of the bottom bracket
and drilled a small hole into SKS fenders. Then taped the wire inside the

Dick,
I saw this also. Isn't a Protovelo a prototype? So this must have been a
prototype Saluki before they were marketing them. Why would you want this when
you already have a Bleriot?
Oh I know. The correct number of bikes is N + 1 and you are currently at N.

This weekend is the 50th TOSRV.
How many Riv riders will be there?
I'll be there on my Blue Rambouillet. Hope to see lots of you there.

Beth,
Below is my experience with your questions.
a. I have my light mounted to a plastic SKS fender. Has been on there since
Sept
09. This bike is ridden most days and is my touring bike. No issues to date.
b. I routed mine inside the fender. Taped it up with black tape, Gorilla brand.

Agree with Steve here. Back from 1983 to 1986 would go through two or
three freewheels a year. And a like number of chainrings. Th
George,
I don't think so. What is CICS?

Regarding the question about Velocity Dyad rims:
I built up a set of wheels for my touring bike (Trek 520) with a Schmidt front
hub and an XT rear. Have been using them for more than a year with no problems.
I like them a lot and plan to use them on my planned Hunquapillar.

Has anyone tried the Maxxis Overdrive? 700x38 and a decent tread
design. I've used the 700x35 M
t too clear about the "lane" you were in when the other two lanes of traffic
stopped to let the oncoming car turn left. You may have some legal recourse
there. Take it to small claims court and see if you can get your expenses
covered.
Good luck and ride safe,

I bought a pair of Lake MX101 mountain biking shoes a few years ago on
closeout. Bought them 2 sizes big and wear them in the winter with thick wool
socks. Recommend these shoes if you can find them.

I have been using 38mm Maxxis Overdrive tires on my touring bike for several
years. Bought them to ride the sandy/gravel roads of the UP. They do well on
gravel and no flats ever. They do not however provide a soft ride. After
reading many opinions think I will try some Paselas non TG.
