I have a 700c wheelset I used for awhile on my Sam. The front is a 32h Shimano
DH-3D71 on a Salsa Delgado Cross rim and the rear is a 36h RynoLite with a
Shimano SLX hub. Super strong. I'd toss in a Shimano 11-30 8 speed cassette as

I think this whole frame flex business has something to do with rider power
and weight also. I don't believe a super light tubed frame would last long
with me riding it and would most likely develop cracks sooner. Were I 165
pounds again maybe not but the average beginner male cyclist over 40 wh

extra long chains (120 links). They're often labelled "29er specific"
since chain length is a common issue with many 29ers, not just the
Bombadil.

There are some cheap beartrap pedals available that I have come to love.
They are made by VP (google VP beartrap pedals). The bearings come set too
tight (IMO). A little futzing with the adjustment and they work
beautifully. You can get them for less than 20 bucks. I have 3 sets and I
