Here in Dayton, Ohio I am actually considering a trip to the UP. Not with a bike though, I was there taking pictures of lighthouses a few months ago and am considering trying to get some of the same shots in the winter.
As far as a place to ride, southwest Ohio is snow free but cold, highs in the 30s and lows in the high teens. Maybe southern Kentucky or Western North Carolina in and around the national parks.
