catalogues... confirmed I still have all from the first few years, and only
missing a couple of later issues (they must be around here somewhere!)
But this thread has been a trove of nuggets on the "early" years of Riv
frames
I have done this in the past, use a gray scrubby pad by 3M then 3M
metal and chrome polish. Just keep polishing back and forth using them
both until the scratches disappear, works great. And no I dont work
for 3M but have done painting and polishing for years and they make
great stuff.

If you don't have access to a bench grinder that you can mount a
polishing/buffing wheel to and get different cutting/polishing
compounds I'd go this route. Especially if the scratches are deep.
There is no easy way. They both take time and are messy. This method

All the buzz about kids bikes made me remember one tucked back in my storage.
It is a late 80's (88?) Specialized Rock Hopper mfg for 24" wheels and sized
for larger kids and smaller adults, like my Sweetie. She's 5' even, but felt
this bike was small for her. She's ridden a periwinkle
Anyone have a Nitto Dirt Drop "80" stem to sell? Ideally, close to Berkeley?
I want to experiment with stems for the moustache bars on my QuickBeam, but
hesitate to buy new only to find it doesn't work out.

Just because it is that Atlantis color doesn't make it an Atlantis. I
doubt that the seller would call it a Long-Low if it says Atlantis on the
downtube. Atlantis was derived as a lower-cost A/R, built by Toyo in Japan
and intentionally given a different name

(400,500,600 etc), followed by simichrome has been working for me.

green) and was ridden maybe 300 miles by me. It has huge clearance (i can
fit 40mm supremes), and so can be used for a variety of purposes.
The bike in the picture sure LOOKS like an Atlantis to me...
On another point that was brought up: As far as I know, Atlantises have
always had the 26"/700C split between 56 cm and 58 cm frame sizes. We had a
very low serial-number 58 in here awhile back, and it was indeed 700c.

Start on the 20" search, it'll take awhile, too! The wheel size really
made a big difference. Most noticeable in rolling off curbs (probably also
why kid bikes are so over-built!). She used to stop and straddle-step walk
them over, now rides right off them. I noticed the big difference for her

Photos were exchanged, frame was described as perfect. Like I said I still
probably would have bought it but for, like 300 less. It is almost all
built up now anyway, if anyone can suggest a touch up paint the color is an
having some issues getting a good match. Thanks
