Just as a point of reference: this occurs with a few of my (non Riv)
bikes , too. It seems the Campy skewer and (Campy) derailer just want
to take up the same space on a bike with older Shimano vertical drop-
outs. The secret move as mentioned already (if you are installing the

I have a Waterford-build Riv mountain bike. It's made of 753 tubing
and has the A/R crown. The original plan was to have MB-0 type forks,
but it turned out to be way too hard to bend the fork blade to fit the
crown Grant had made. Too bad - I saw a prototype and it was truly
amazing to behold.

sorry for only now responding... I measure 8.5" from my bag loop

For them to decline on your 13-32 combo is weird. All that is is a standard
12-32 with a 13 in place of 12. You might also check out Loose Screws:

Hi Mike,
It's an easy fix. With some wheel combos we've found the lower edge of
the rear dropout--the "top" edge of the opening of the slot,
interferes about 1-2mm. Not enough to prevent anything, but enough
for a temporary frustration. Sometimes. The fix is low-tech and to

Thanks for the replies Doug and Steve.
I do only use friction so spacing is not critical. I've contacted
Harris about making cassettes other than what's listed as their 13-32

Besides, other than NOS, there's not even a word for something like

"Newsage?" "Beauvo-Nuovo?" "Carton Queen?"
Just doesn't have the same vibe, although #3 pretty well sums it up
for me.
