Thanks for the replies Doug and Steve.

I do only use friction so spacing is not critical. I've contacted
Harris about making cassettes other than what's listed as their 13-32
isn't exactly what I was looking for. I was declined on
13,14,16,18,21,24,28,32 as there are no single 16 or 18 cogs, from
Shimano at least. I see Miche makes cogs up to the 20's, so that may
offer me some relief there. I've asked them about a
13,14,15,17,20,24,28,32 also, I'm waiting on the reply. The
13,15,17,19,21 etc. would work also though.

I may end up using my current FW wheels with the 13-32 for the
Bombadil, and get a cassette system for the road. 13.15.17.20.24.28.32
is near perfect for me with my current 26-44-48 rings on my road bike,
but it also is good with a 24-38-48 or 36-46. I must say I really like
half-step style gearing.... on the road at least. I've never tried it
off-road.... but my off-road these days is more like dirt trails,
gravel roads and rural mystery roads laden with potholes that look
like mortar shells hit them. So I may still use half-step +g.

7 gears in the cluster is all I really need. Heck, on ye old
Stumpjumper I used 5, before going to 6. I was never at a loss for
gears. My only real problem with cassettes is the lack of custom
options. It's so simple to do... yet so few options. I don't care why
as much as what to do about it today.

-cheers, Garth
