I have not received an email update from Rivendell for, I don't know,
three years? But I used to receive them regularly. I wonder if
Rivendell lost a bunch of addresses somehow? So it is good that these
be posted to the lists, and I suggest that somebody at Rivendell send
it to the iBOB list as we

UPS delivered mine today. a 1995 RBW (made at Waterford). Someone posted that
the WI shop used heavy tubing and I was afraid that my Rivvie would feel more
like a Batavius. I put it on a scale after opening the box, and the frame,
fork, and Chris King head set all together scale at 5 1/4 lbs.
I'd be your guy, but for the fact that I just got the '57 bleriot
demo . . . which fact simultaneously prohibits my purchase while
telling me how worthwhile it would be.

Hello all,
Dave Schonenberg from RBW here (newish guy since July 08).
I have a well used 57cm Bleriot that I bought in April 2008, before I
began working here.
I am considering selling it for around $1500 once my Hillborne comes
in in March.
I want to see if anyone in the bunch would want it.

Can't Riv just do like the Chinese and change the name To Bombuhdill or
Bombadillo? Sort of like the "Reobok" sneakers they would sell in the
markets of West Africa.

If my chest wasn't already tattooed I'd probably head out and get a
banner with that below my neck. I never heard that before and I know a
lot of tattoo history.
Bike looks nice. You have a comment on your Flicker page saying that
you're thinking of upgrading the saddle to something like a Brooks

good deal on, if you're interested. It's the now-discontinued antique

Mike,
Congrats, it looks great. You're right, it rides a lot different than the
Hilsen. My personal preferance is the hammered Honjos. You may also want to
look at the Continental GatorSkins (28cm). I think they ride as well and are
faster than the Ruffty Tuffys.

I'm interested in putting Mafac centerpulls on a 700c bike I'm having

Also, I'm wondering if Raids work on 700c?
I'm wanting to run 35mm w/ fenders and up to around 42mm without.
Thanks!

Looks like a really nice build. I for one lament the passing (or sleeping?)
of the Rambouillet. It seems like Riv's current offerings are gradually
merging into the same all-rounder country bike, whereas at least the
Rambouillet would stand out in today's lineup as being a little different as

So I got my frame back from Rivendell on Monday. I spent yesterday

it appears to be in good working order. I think I'll swing by the bike

everything is good. I'm exc
