A few legit mails we received were blocked with the "message/partial.*
Message/partial MIME attachments blocked by policy" line in
quarantine-attachments.txt
I think I might also point out that the mails in question were all in
Japanese (which is a double-byte character set)

Yes, you should probably change it. All you need to do is create a new
user (e.g. spamd) with /bin/false as a shell, and then make sure that
spamd starts with "-u spamd" along with all the other start options.
Please forgive my bone-headedness. I installed spamassassin after
qmail-scanner, hence qmail-scanner wasn't aware of spamassassin.
