Hi Joel,
Unless I'm misunderstanding, the label command, label menu, and the label
wizard all support proteins and nucleic acids. Do you have an example where
that's not the case?
Best,
Jarrett J.

Hi
Am using pymol 3. Am I correct in thinking that you can't use the 'label'
dialogues to label nucleotides in a nucleic acid? Only proteins?
Thanks

Hi Vaheh,

I can't reproduce 2., maybe it is also already fixed? If not, what are the
steps to reproduce it?

PyMOLers,
I've installed PyMOL version 1.7.0.1 on my new laptop running Win 7, 64-bit.
Number of issues:
1. Side-by-side stereo shows only one side in cross- or wall-eye mode and both
when ray-traced;
2. Labels can be generated, but I can move in editing mode only the label that

Hi pymolers.
I have this strange problem, that labels
are not showing, unless I use the ray command.
Anyone experience the same?

Hi,
I have PyMOL-0.99rc6 in SuSE Pro 9.3. I have a script that generates
labels in the screen. At the end I generate a PNG output. All of this
works when I use PyMOL interactively. The output PNG file is fine.
But when I run PyMOL in batch mode (-c flag), the PNG file created does

This is an unusual and annoying problem.
I'm running the latest version of Pymol on two PC machines, one in my

Hi everyone,
I got a odd problem with labeling:
I used:

set label_color, black
set label_font_id, 4
To shift the label I "shift-middle-click-drag (in 3-Button-editing-mode)"
but I get a duplication of the label?

Hi,
I noticed that Ray traced output of images containing
text labels will show the shadows thrown by and on these
labels. This is a nice feature but is there also an easy
way to turn this off (i.e. selectively turn off shadows
from/on text while mantaining global shadows)?
Thanks,

Hi
How can I get my labels to appear in front of a cartoon representation
of a protein? Currently I have a decent text size but the text is
obscured by the cartoon folding over it. Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks!!

I have just installed the new release of PyMol and was particularly
pleased that labels can now be rendered. Then it occured to me that I
actually don't know how to label a residue Tyr84 (or whatever) and have
the label positioned next to the residue.
Any hints would be appreciated.

Hi,
I noticed today that labels (other than distances) is not stored in scenes.
Could be very handy in a "live" presentation to have pre-labeled residues. Is
this hard to implement, or just an oversight?

Dear all:
What do I need to do avoid losing the labels when I ray trace?
Thank you again

Hello to all,
Can anybody tell why the labels disappear after the rendering and if
there is a way to include labels in the ray-traced images.

Hi,
Open the png file in photoshop or illustrator and add them. I don't
think PyMol can add ray traced labels yet.

Dear colleagues:
I've been looking for a way to add labels to my figures.
After a search in the e-mail list files, I could draw cgo labels, although it
would be a pain to
orient them by hand using cmd.rotate and cmd.translate (too many figures).
So, in the case of mono, I have used photoshop to

Chris,
To get labels on ray-traced images use the method that follows.
* Before ray-tracing decide what labels you want
* Hide everything of the current image
* Select show labels
* You will need to change the colour of the labels, as they adopt the

Hi,
I am making some stereo images and would like to put in some labels that
will move with the model. When I use the "label" command, the labels are
okay but they disappear with ray tracing. Is there any way around this,
other than adding in the labels in an image editing program?
Thanks,
