Dont know about what kind of RPM packages you talking about, because i
did not see nor official nor unofficial RPMs for RH 8.0, anyway i will
try to post some step-by-step instruction how-to build KDE 3.1 from
cources under RH 8.0 without to uninstall KDE 3.0.x
You need the following source
run rhn-applet-gui i find that it stays for about 3 logins only then
goes again.

Ok couple questions here,
1. By Typing make in the meta dir, will that make all kde packages, i mean
like all the apps, office apps, etc? The reason I ask is that the Konstruct
Readme says to
cd meta/kde;make install
to make all packages?
Just wondering. Already doing your instructions now.

I'm using kernel 2.4.18-24.7, with RH 7.3.
I have found a linux user website with almost the same laptop a Acer

There was suggestion for using the NoflushD deamon and rtdvs.
Is this a good idee?

Hello,
I’ve got a laptop and I
plan to install RedHat 8.0 on an external Disk connected on a USB 2.0 port.
Then I want to boot from “ad-hoc”

Burning the CD is OK, but is
the external Disk supported ?
Did anybody already try this
?

Because of that, I cannot install vmware 3.2!
Does someone out there already find a way to make vmware 'think' that
RH8 running kernel and C headers are consistent?
I really need to fix this or..., "downgrade" it [fortunate..., in Linux,
a real "downgrade" doesn't exist like in M$...:)].

why can't you just open another telnet session, at least if you hang the
one you're on, it would freeze the same screen session that is doing the
compile.
