I think the definition is a little incomplete that you have. I am no
expert, but your computer may be a router rather than a proxy server.
You may also set it up as a firewall so it could be a firewall/router.
Usually a proxy server requires all the computers connecting to the
internet through it

edit the /etc/inittab file
you will see the line
id:5:initdefault:
change it to the following:
id:3:initdefault:
This will make it so that you boot into runlevel 3 (command-line)
instead of 5 (gui)

source files from rpm.org, in order to try to get my source version of
Kpackage running.
My problem is getting the source version to read the rpm database, as it
does not know what packages are installed, and this is quite a

Well, al little mor - I finally got the kernel module to install, but
the video is as slow as the standard vesa driver. It's like the driver
is now loading but has no acceleration at all. I've reverted back to the
earlier build for now.

I upgraded both the kernel and the GLX files and verified the "alias
char-major-195 nvidia" statement was also correctly there.
I am now able to load the kernel and GLX divers, but it's still *WAY*
slower than the original vesa driver. Any ideas why this is so slow now?
