I not in my senses... Still I tried to run at that
speed today and it works... but not at 6x... very
strange indeed...

The Devil is wise not because he is the Devil, but because he is old.
after typing something like this
cdrecord -v disc1.iso
I get something like this:
Cdrecord 1.10 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C)
1995-2001 J?rg Schilling
TOC Type: 1 = CD-ROM
scsidev: '0,0,0'
scsibus: 0 target: 0 lun: 0
Linux sg driver version: 3.1.24
Using libscg version 'schily-0.5'
atapi: 1
What's the output of includeing the -v option on cd record.
If you are using media that is rated at 4x having a faster burner
won't help. It will only burn what the media says it supports.
In message <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>you write:
>I need help burning some cd... I have a hp cd

I need help burning some cd... I have a hp cd
writer... it's a 9100 series that can bur up to 8x. I
try the following:
cdrecord speed=6 dev=0,0,0 /path/tofile
but cdrecord always burns at 4x. help would be
apreciated..
thanks,
