The "chkconfig telnet on" sends a signal to xinetd rendering "service
xinetd restart" unnecessary.

All,
I want to create a cd that will boot, and automatically install a custom (kickstart)
version of RedHat 8.
I want the ks.cfg on the CD as well as the necessary packages for the kickstart

I have previously been successful at setting up kickstart installs to

two processors and four gigs RAM.

Then I,m confused because according to Redhat they're discontinuing all but the AS

Can someone clarify or confirm this?

Is Redhat 8 or 9 (downloadable, simple version) running on this server?
If it runs ES 2.1 it almost certainly will run Red Hat 8 or 9. The ES
line tends to be fairly out of date for dr

While this answered the question, it's not the best advice:
On the machine you wish to contact remotely
chkconfig telnet off

man ssh

Plenty. I run two production servers on ProLiant DL380 G3, with dual Xeons. One is an
Oracle 9i Database server and a Zope/Plone content management server. The other is a
JBOSS (java) server and a remote management machine. Both are running Redhat ES 2.1
and both run very well.
