spaces it
produces an "expecting variable name" error. I have tried with and without
parentheses and gotten the same result.
I'm not sure if this is a bug or if there is an idiosyncrasy to the syntax
that I am missing.

I have not been able to get the /Rename subcommand to work on a "Save
Translate" command. The error that I consistently get is the following:
I have tried a number of variations to the syntax including:
SAVE TRANSLATE
/OUTFILE='e:\Databases\Updates\RCRA\hreport_univ_CA5.csv"
I'm running it under Windows 10. Your example runs find but aside from a
minor syntax error I found in my code, it appears that the problem is with
the long column names containing spaces. I have tried using single quotes,
double quotes, and square brackets. Are they not supported?

Here is the code that I ran in SPSS. Some of the really long names were
truncated, but it ran successfully without error messages (other than a
message about the truncations) and it produced the output file.

For what it’s worth, I have been running PSPP under Windows 10 very
successfully for the past several years. The Windows installation is no
different than any other Windows program, and the interface is similar to that
of SPSS. I would suggest giving it a try.

It seems that using pspp 2.0.0-pre3g2c9fe2 under Windows 11, the EDIT-FIND
command in the Syntax editor is not working. The dialog appears, but nothing is
ever found. As an aside, it would be really nice to also have a
Search-and-Replace option in the syntax editor, as well.

I hadn’t paid any attention to capitalization but now that I do, I totally see
