Hey Alan - no worries there! I never get tricked by ANY of those
Phishing Scams - but do get annoyed when I see them. Since, I have a
mother-in-law who is very old, and hangs out on the Web - getting
e-mails. And, I get worried that SHE will eventually get duped by one of
them.
I remember one mess
Ed - for obvious reasons (since I am subscribed to this list via my job

discreet about my reply.

I was speaking to a Foxpro developer in Alabama, USA about Firebird DB

We have a guy in our community (www.profox.ro) which did a lot of work
with Firebird and he's one of the ones I'd call expert in this area.
Dorin Vasilescu. He has posted some useful classes on Universalthread
as well. He says Firebird is a dependable and free database server.
And if he says so, I

There is an embedded version of Firebird; perhaps that's what they were

The first thing I'd say about that is are 'they' confusing it with
SQLite ?
Secondly, I wouldn't think FireBird would compete with SQL Server /
MySQL /
I looked into Firebird, and found it was a very potent DB solution. I opted
for PostgreSQL for several reasons. Firebird had minimal documentation from
3rd party persons at the time (likely changed by now), PostgreSQL is at
least as potent and totally free, the other alternative DB was MySQL, and

Dear Virgil:
Thank you for the tip.
I compiled the Word2003.doc with CutePDF and setting up one link.
Though the link works in the DOC file, it does not in the PDF file:

Interesting..
Send the file to vbier...@ktc.com and I'll look at it...
Now the links in a pdf do not appear to be there..
BUT, when you move your mouse over the link, it will change to a hand and
you can click on it and then select allow and it will open up in a browser.

By the way, not sure what you mean by compiled...
What you want to do is PRINT to the cutepdf printer and then you will need
to go to wherever you saved it and open it up.,
