I am building my own RPMs too, based on GhettoForge src.rpm packages.

Per security policy i am not allowed to use sources besides redhats...
I do build postfix from source using the specs file available in fedora
repo.
It is simple, just install rpbmuild grab the tar.gz file and rename
everything in the spec file to match your distro.
Build with rpbmuild -ba pos

I would suggest you to use GhettoForge repo
(http://ghettoforge.org/index.php/Main_Page);
See packages: http://ghettoforge.org/index.php/Postfix3

Until now, I have not been able to find ready-made CentOS Postfix RPMs
with standard-only options.
You could also compile from source as described here:
http://stevejenkins.com/blog/2011/01/building-postfix-2-8-on-rhel5-centos-5
Hi,
What is the best / reliable site to find newer postfix rpm packages
for centos 5 / rhel 5? by default it ships postfix 2.3.x and it's a
bit antique version.

I'm new to Postfix, and I'm learning all I can from the readme files.
However, I'm using CentOS 5.5 and the repo contains v2.3 of postfix.
Building from source is causing strange problems with yum. Is there anywhere
I don't know about where I can find an RPM for a current version of Postfix?
