Hi everyone
Advene [1] is a video annotation tool, that was present in Debian but
got removed before stretch release in 2015 because of dependencies on
obsolete packages (gstreamer 0.10, python-rsvg...). Lack of time
prevented me (as upstream) to cope with this update at the time.

more time than I can invest right now. It is still in my todo list, but

Hi
This bug is now fixed upstream. There will be a minor release shortly,
which will allow me to update the package.
Best regards,
Olivier

Hello
I can help on this, as I am the author/maintainer of the bindings. I do
not have much time ATM to lead the effort, but I can help.
I guess one of the first thing I would need to do on my side is to
define a proper release/versioning scheme for the bindings, which does
not exist yet, apart f
Hello Shirish
I had the exact same issue last week. The trouble is that MP4Box seems
to consider that audio tracks are always incompatible, even if they have
the same parameters, and thus creates a new sound track when combining
both files.
I found a solution by separately merging the audio and

Hello
I last asked for reviewing the packaging of Advene last june. Since
there were some things better addressed upstream, it took some time, but
finally we released a 1.0 version of Advene, which fixes some Debian
issues (licenses, locale file generation). I updated the package to

Hello
With the help of Jonas, I have addressed all comments about the
packaging of the Advene application. Is there anything more that should
be done to have it uploaded? I am ready to handle all maintenance of the
package, but I cannot upload it.
Best regards,
Olivier

It was indeed a try to remove the dh_python2 warning. It does not change
with me. I am ready to handle all maintenance of the
package, but I cannot upload it.

- once this issue is fixed, is there a DD (Jonas?) that would be willing
to collaborate with me? I am ready to handle all maintenance of the
package, but I cannot upload it.
Thanks, and have a nice day

Hello Jonas (and all)
Thanks for your answer and your interest. I am of course ready to
actively maintain this package (all the more that I am the upstream
also). I have addressed most of your remarks, but I still have some
issues and would appreciate your hinsight:

Hello
Does anyone have an advice on how to find a DD to collaborate with, in
order to get a package uploaded? I do not want to harass people, so
maybe there are other means than this mailing-list that I should be
aware of?
Have a nice day,
Olivier

Hello
Long time since my last message here (but I daily read the mailing
lists). I was busy fixing bugs and preparing the new release of Advene.
Now that it is out, I have updated the package and uploaded it on
git.debian.org:

Thanks for spotting this. It is not needed, and I have fixed this
upstream (not yet released but in
/advene.git
Cheers,

Hello again
I have properly packaged the Advene application, using git-buildpackage,
and uploaded it to mentors.debian.net. The package is now lintian-clean.
It can be found on mentors.debian.net:

Version: 1.0.3-1
Severity: wishlist
The SVG plugin is not compiled in the VLC package. It would be nice to either
have it bundled in the vlc package, or provided in its own vlc-plugin-svg
package.
