God, I take it you people didn't watch tv in the 90's? foobar - the descriptive pronunciation of fubar - an ancronym for Fucked up beyond all recognition. See Tango and Cash and assorted bad late 80's and early 90's tv. Tango and Cash was probably the most famous usage of it in main stream media.
