PHP can be used with use virtually any i.e.: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Access, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase, Informix, FoxPro, FrontBase, Interbase, DB2, ADO and ODBC.
This is not an exhaustive list it can support many others via ODBC, ADO etc etc...
