do I need to choose things like --enable-ldap in order to have ldap

This method compiles the libphp directly into the Apache binary, thus it is
'supposed' to be faster. The problem is the negative side of doing this.
With PHP's frequent releases, a user would need to be re-compiling Apache
each time a new build of PHP was being installed (thus the reason most ISP
same error msg is given after a reboot.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'm a novice at this stuff...

I have the same problem.
I'm running Win2k, with the same versions of Apache and PHP as Zavier.
This only happened when I tried to install php as a module: when I tried to
install as cgi it worked fine.

I've problem with install PHP 4.0.4 on WinNT 4 with IIS 4.
I add file php4isapi.dll to isapi filters and IIS can't load it ;-(
I have all permissions OK, isapi from PHP 4.0.1 is loaded OK, but
varsion 4.0.4 isn't loaded.
What is wrong ?

Is the file called php.ini or php.ini-dist? It took me a while to figure out
that there needs to be a file called php.ini in your php.ini folder (as
indicated at the top of phpinfo()). I kept modifying php.ini-dist and it
wouldn't do anything after I restarted Apache.

directory (like /usr/ports/www/mod_php4) and edit the Makefile. In the
middle of the Makefile should be a listing of all extra --with... options.

THAT worked and still works after undoing the upgrade.
But I now notice that the $php_errormsg variable is no longer saying "Could
not find/open font" but it's now blank. Everything SEEMS as though it should
work, but it's not. Can anyone shed some light?

Do you have a php binary on your system, either from a build that you did or
from a standard RPM build? If so, then that is your answer. Thanks.
